IRGC Workshop on Comparing Methods for Terrorism Risk Assessment with Methods in Cyber Security

The workshop brought together a group of leading researchers working on issues of terrorism risk assessment with a group of leading researchers in cyber security. The objective was to explore what the two communities can learn from each other and whether there are opportunities to avoid duplication and reinvention. In most conventional risk assessment, there is no intelligent adversary, which does not hold true for the case of terrorism. It is for this reason that we thought it productive to bring these two groups of experts together under one roof.

The workshop was organised and chaired by Prof. Granger Morgan, Carnegie Mellon University. Financial support for the workshop was provided by IRGC’s sponsors, EPFL and Swiss Re. In-kind staff support was provided by the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
